Transporation
Transportation Network. DAVNJ operates six vans and any number of DAV Member vehicles that transport veterans to their medical appointments. It wants to extend the network to more Chapters. Annual van insurance and operating expenses run about $5,000.
Outreach – DAVNJ
Chapters reach out to veterans in their communities to enroll then in the VA Health Care System and to veteran employment opportunities, educational and vocational training and all the other Veteran Administration and NJ State benefits. Chapter 3 in Newark holds open house in July 2023 at their meeting location, the 6th Precinct of the Newark Police Department.
VA Claims Assistance
DAVNJ certified Chapter and State Service Officers at the North Jersey Standout help veterans to begin their government claims for service connected disability compensation.
